Kings Boxing Academy work tirelessly to develop every aspect of the club especially focussing on competing and our female development and inclusion program.

Our team of dedicated volunteers have made many improvements including our infrastructure, constitution and club benchmark. The club is totally committed to the sport of amateur boxing and continue to provide every possible opportunity for our boxers.

Since the pandemic we witnessed a decline in matches for us, we made every effort to ensure our boxers competed in the ring, this resulted in traveling further distances. Our club is renowned for being reliable, competing is our ‘whole purpose’.

Unfortunately, we were unable to host our own show which was postponed twice, this required full backing and matching our entire squad to make this a real success. Many aspects are out of our control such as matching opponents and a record amount of pull-outs which effected our boxers.

Grass-roots clubs often have difficulties and obstacles, so at our AGM the committee and members overwhelmingly voted a change to seek new opportunities and to make a big impact in developing our female boxing program.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Kings Boxing Academy have now affiliated to England Boxing as our governing body as part of our passion and determination to develop and improve the club. We made the transition in lightening time, we passed the club standard, safeguarding, coaching and all requirements with flying colours.

This was not an easy decision, the votes were conducted with our secretary addressing the issues along with the Pro’s and Con’s to our committee and members which finalised their decision. Our Head Coach remained neutral and abstained from voting to ensure democracy.

We have been made very welcome as new members of England Boxing and we have moved over on the Warrior database. Our registration process took days with the professionalism of the Club Support Officer and the more-than helpful Western Counties registrar who has produced cards and guided us through the new process.

We wish to pay homage to thank our predecessors and colleagues but it’s time for change and we will endeavour to make our impact in amateur boxing and in the ring. We welcome new members in particular females and any boxer who wishes to compete for us with the benchmark we strive to uphold.

For us hard work, commitment, determination, development and idealisation are the keys to success!
